I’m just changing from al7 to pp cs3 and on my first project really love the way pp works but i’m having problems exporting the finished movie.
the project is 720p and consist of about 20 photos and a short video clip from sony ex1. The photos have all been re sized and rotated in pp and everything is rendered and plays fine from the time line but when i try to export the movie it appears the some photos aren’t rendering out right or something strange,i have black bars at top and bottom or some have black corner.I have tried about every export setting i can think of.Am i doing something wrong or is there something in my pc system that is not set right or compatible?? specs listed below any help will be greatly appreciated

    vista home os
    quad core processor
    4g ram
    ati 2900 hd video card
audigy xfi elete pro sound card

Explain more about what you mean by “black bars at top and bottom or some have black corner” — are you exporting widescreen and getting it letter boxed? And what do you mean by “black corner”?

what is hapening is the finished video is under sized and not filling up the entire screen so i have black black at top and bottom.I have tested futher if i lay a 1280 x 720 image on the timeline it fills my sequince monitor properly but when i export it is undersized
now what i have found so far is if my original image is 30 to 40 % larger than the output targeteverything works but this means im zoomed in way to much.It must be somthing in my settings that is not right but i cant seam to find what.My export to movie settings are as follows:
    general file type: uncompresed avi
    Range :entire sequence
    embedding options: none

video compressor: 8-bit yuv (4.2.2 yuv)
    color depth: millions of colors
    frame size: 1280 h 720 v 8:5
    frame rate: 29.97
pixel aspect ratio: D1/dv NTSC (0.9)

    keyframe rendering
    Bit depth: use project settings
feilds : no feildes (progressive scan)

my original project settings are : hdv 720p30
    I-frame only mpeg -2 movie

note* it seams strange to me that i dont have an option to export as an mpeg2, and also that all the default export settings i have to chose frome are all set to 720×480 frame size in default settings(which i did change to 1280x 720)??

I think your first problem is trying to export using “export” instead of adobe media encoder. That will allow you to pick MPEG 2. There’s also a ton more presets. You can also preview your output before you export. (click the output tab)

Your other issue with direct export and black bars was the fact your using an aspect pixel ratio of .9 (dv) instead of 1.0 (square)(which is default for 1280 x 720).
