xvid mpeg 4 avi file playback problem
hi,
recently i have a problem when i import mpeg 4 avi file that encoded with xvid. the movie is one hour and half..on the source window when i move the blue cruser its show me only 2 minutes on all the 1 hour and half..the 10 seconds show on 20 minutes and the next 10 seconds show on 20 minutes and on and on…its preview problem??
in some case of other movie its play ok..but i remember that this movie play good 2 months ago..
on the timeline its the same..
ahh..the sound is good!!! just the video is the problem..
what to do?

XVID will always be a hit or miss in Premiere. It is not supported and relies on third party codecs to play back in the timeline.
And to be honest, it has never taken off as a playback format. The majority of users can’t view it, and wouldn’t know how to install the codec, and H.264 is miles away in quality vs size… My only recomendation would be to convert it before import.
