i’ve been editing for 5 years now, mostly on avid. finally convinced my employer to move to something the kids coming out of school can identify with, something that’s far less expensive than avid…i love premiere.

but now i’m trying to edit my wedding before my 1-year anniversary. it was shot on an army of sony z1u’s (read: 3) at 1080i…

starting a new project, i’ve selected that the footage capture in HDV, then i go to the presets and choose the hdv 1080i30(60i) option. everything loads up and looks fine until i go to capture.

it says that my capture device is offline, however, i still have deck control through the capture screen…i just don’t have the ability to press record. this is driving me absolutely nuts.

i’ve searched through the topics here on the cow and can’t find anything regarding the issue i’m having. any help is welcome and appreciated, thanks!

figures that i would find the solution after making a post, isn’t that the way it always works?

i had all the settings correct, except that i.link conversion was set to “on”. everything seems to be working fine now.

thanks for reading, hope this post helps someone else!

    Mike,
Don’t feel too bad, I do that every other day!!

Too much software, not enough brain, here.
