  • NEED serious help exporting from Premiere Pro CS3

I’m a military broadcaster which means I have to get my products done and out FAST.

I need help though because I’m baffled.

Problem One: When I use my camera(Sony PD-170) to export clips to tape, the computer acknowledges that the camera is plugged in as a deck, but it won’t export my clips to the camera. On the camera display screen, I can’t even see the media that is on Premiere. The screen is just blue.

I’ve tried everything; restarting the computer, unplugging and reconnecting the camera, turning the camera on and off and it STILL won’t export to tape.

Problem Two: Whenever my camera is plugged into my computer and I try to play media in Premiere the audio plays just fine IN premiere but the video lags terribly. However, when I unplug the camera, the audio AND video play together.

Problem Three: Recently, whenever I try to open File, Premiere just freezes and I can’t get it to do anything.

    Help?

    [Jessi Hayes] “Problem One”

Your Project Settings must match your DV source; one of the 8 DV Presets, 4 PAL and 4 NTSC.
The Device Control settings (Edit>Preferences>Device Control) should match your camera; Devices=DV/HDV Device control…Options= Video Standard (NTSC or PAL), Device Brand and Type= Sony, D170.
What does this window show as Device Status? Must be Online.

    [Jessi Hayes] “Problem Two”

This is normal. You must choose External Device Audio from Playback settings to export audio to Tape.

What kind of file??…are you opening an existing Project or importing files into a project. Some projects take up to 20 minutes to open.
