  Exporting HD questions – CS4

  2 questions about HD since I just now got my HD Cam.

  1st off I do use PC.

  When I’m done editing an HD project in PP Cs4, what file format do I export to in order to maintain the HD properties? Avi, Mpeg2….

  Then if I create a playable DVD with that file, does it maintain it’s HD or convert to SD?

  Sorry, HD seems to have so many options. Thanks much!

  No way to get HD on a DVD, although some new players support WMV HD, but very very few. Otherwise you need a Blu-Ray burner and player and Blu-Ray discs.

  For computer export, most formats support HD, Quicktime H.264 and Windows Media Video are the most common choices, bit rate for good quality will likely have to be above 5/6 Mb/s.

  For the web, I would recommend looking into flash as it is the only format almost everyone will be able to playback successfully.
