    Hi,

I’ve run out of ideas about how to sort this out, it would be great if anyone on here can explain this to me!

I’m working on a project in pal dv. I made a title in photoshop, and imported it into the project as a psd.
I put the track matte effect onto another image file, and set the matte to the layer with the title.

In the Premiere preview window it looks fine, with the title zooming, and revealing the image below.
    So far so good.

I used dynamic link to burn a dvd in encore to try it on a tv.

When i watched it on the television it looked terrible. The title flickered badly, and instead of one clean title it now shows like a shadow one as well.

I’m wondering if it got anything to do with interlacing?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

    Things that can cause flickering on a TV;
    1. Thin horizontal lines
    2. Colors outside the safe range (16-235 RGB)
    3. Serif fonts
    4. Photoshop layers that were simplified and then resized up.

Anti aliasing in PS can cause the drop shadowed look.

    Hi Mike!

I looked at the titles I made in Photoshop, and found the antialias was set at high.
I fixed this, changed the white to light grey, and its looking a lot better now.

I just spent 2 days working on the title sequence, I got a real shock when I saw how bad it looked! I can calm down now.

I guess I’ll have to invest in a video monitor so I can see the outcome before burning to dvd.

Thanks so much for your help.

    Matt
