ok, well on some bordom time today i was hunting around the forums, and i looked down at aharon’s signature, now ive been to pill of illusion but i hadn’t been to allbetsareoff yet, and i saw he did the green screan show, not necesaily the best show ever, but i loved the transition from animation to “toon”

my question, and this is to any one, but i guess spicificly to mr rabinowitz, is do u just key out, and then animators do there thing, and you have no hands on, or do u key out, give the footage to the animators, and they give u back the footage, and you transition out.

im cuius as to the process

and a secondary question, as im new to greenscrean, what with the markers on the screan (my schools screan, though small doesn’t have these) im wondering what there for

    thanks for all info

    Hey,

For the markers, I guess it’s used to track motion of the camera to put wheter a 3D scenery or a 2D background so the motion matches with the green screen footage (and the markers).

As for the other questions, I’ll let Aharon or others answer (lmao).

oh ok i get it,because having a camera track program won;t beable to tell you where the bacground is moving in perspective, that makes sense

    thanks

I worked with a team of traditional animators – the guys who do the saturday night live cartoons – wachtenheim Marrianetti Animation, LLC. They did the drawings, and I keyed out the footage, motion tracked different part sof their bodies, did some stuff by hand. Also we had Dark green marking points on the green screen (looked like Plus signs), whioch we used to mark camera moves and zoomes, which After Effects’s motion tracker can calculate for. So when the camera zooms up the BG moves with it, also to the left and right.

By the way -thanks for asking about this project. 2 weeks ago, when I was having dinner with my wife, I saw someone that looked really familiar, but couldn’t place him. I knew he was an actor, and I knew I’d worked on a project he was in, but for the life of me, I just couldn’t figure it out. This morning, I looked back at the drew carey stuff, and it was one of the guys from that. It’s been driving me crazy. Now I can get some sleep.
