  another big issue with Premiere

  Hi,
  I have yet another dilema in Premiere that doesn’t seem to have a good solution. I have a 5 minute sequence. I’ve done all the mixing using the audio mixer. It works very well. I now have to insert a 5-7 sec promo at the head of my timeline. Obvioulsy the track keyframes will not move if I insert the clip. I seem to have 3 options (None of which are really good). First, I could create a new sequence and drop the first sequence into it. The problem with that is that I have a bunch of logos as bugs, and they are all rendered. As soon as I drop the First timeline into the second, it sees all the rendered files as unrendered. Very frustrating. the second option is to simply render out the whole sequence, and then add the promo to this in a new timeline. This takes about 5 minutes per sequence and I have 7 sequences…again, not a good solution especially if there are changes at some point. The third is to render out just the audio, and then move the timeline. This would probably work, but again if there are changes everything gets out of whack. Is there any way to move the entire track as needed? Does anyone know why the rendered files don’t follow to the new timeline?
  Any suggestions?

  There is another option.

  (I would consider the way you’ve mixed this audio using the track’s volume instead of the clips own volume is a learning curve).

  As the audio is the thing you need to shift. Make a new seq with the same settings as the original timelines and name is so you know it’s the FINAL OUTPUT version. Add the edited/mixed sequence to the new timeline. Then open the edited/mixed sequence and grab all the video only and copy it. go back to the FINAL OUTPUT seq. and grab all the video only and delete it. Place the CTI (Playhead) back at the start of the timeline and paste the copied orginal rendered edit.
  Now you should have a nested audio mix and the original rendered vision.
  Then do and insert edit with the promo from the start of the timeline and all the renders should stick and the mix should sound right too.
