10-Bit AVI will not render in Premiere Pro 2, Unknown Error
Hello,
I’ve seen many posts on the net about users getting this error with all sorts of different explanations.
This project was captured from SDI into a Black Magic Decklink card as a 10-bit AVI. The disc was moved from the telecine suite into an editing suite. I’ve got 3 feature length films on this drive (1TB with 300GB free). All the video clips for all 3 projects have conformed and don’t need to be rendered except for this 1 file. It conforms, but I can see that the audio doesn’t go all the way to the end. If I mouse over it I can’t even see screen shots, but I can hear the audio. Even after ‘partially’ conforming there’s a red line over the file and I can’t see screen shots or play back. If I try to render I get an “error compiling movie, unknown error message”. I can’t export the file either. I’ve tried creating a new project and importing and reconforming. No luck. The file will play back in Windows Media Player. Right now it’s looking like that reel will have to be retransferred > definitely not the optimal solution.
Anybody know how to make Adobe Premiere recognize this file and let me work with it? Seems very odd that WMP can play the file but Premiere can’t…
