CS4 import issues!
OK, first of all let me apologise for the length of this post! I am just going to post this and see if anyone has had a similiar issue and how they might have corrected it. First of all I am injesting a one hour show that was switched live in Broadcast Pix and recorded straight to hard drive as mpeg. I imported the footage into premier CS4 to fix a couple of things and sweeten it a little. I have done this regularly in ppro2 without complications. The footage seems to drop in and out of focus and has weird artifacts in it, little green pixalation and noise. I figured that it may be my system…I tried it on a mirror system to mine, a friends editor, and my brand spanking new laptop, all with the same results. I figure that CS4 might be having a problem with the mpeg so I converted to AVI. The AVI looked like it was sped up double time and the audio was glitchy. At this point it has been two days of me trying to figure this crap out and I had to get this show done…so I pulled out my dusty old laptop running cs2. I imported the mpeg and it looks fantastic! No shifts in clarity or green pixles, it’s crystal clear! I edited it down, dumped it back out as an AVI and just for giggles imported it back into CS4 in my new computer and low and behold…IT LOOKS GREAT! What the heck is going on? Am I the only one with this issue? Why does every converter I send it through on my new system produce the same results. Most importantly, why is it that three different systems running CS4 produce the EXACT same problem? Can someone please enlighten me?
