I’ve been handed a project that references an effect I don’t have, and won’t be using. So, every time I open the project, it throws an error that it can’t find the required effect on my system. Is there a way to dig up the usage of that lost effect so I can delete it? I don’t know where it was used in the myriad of sub-comps of prep art.
    Thanks,
    Greg

All that comes to mind is going through comp-by-comp, selecting all layers in each comp, then hitting “E” to see the effects applied to those layers.

    “Ugh” indeed.

Heres a nice script that will seach through effects for you:

Thank Paul Tuersley of Digital Anarchy for that one.
