I am trying to take an animation I originally created in Boris Red and bring it through After Effects and export it as an animated Gif. I have been able to do this but when I bring the animated GIF into PowerPoint, it does not play right. It is very slow. I know this probably doesn’t truly fit this forum but I am desparate. If anyone has any ideas, please help.

    Thanks!

    Hi Greg

Does the animated gif play normally when you drag it into an open browser …?

    I don’t know Powerpoint.

Not sure that AE is the best way to make animated gifs. Couldn’t you export your animation for Powerpoint in some nicer format, .wmv with mpeg4,or even mpeg1? If you’re playing back from hard disc, then AE .swf Flash files might be OK for you.

If you really want to go animated gif, then Gif Movie Gear from https://www.gamani.com/gmgdet.htm is designed for gif animation, has optimisation features (and has the bonus of allowing creation of windowsXP icons with 8-bit alpha channel.) The trial version is fully functioning for 30 days, and it’s not too costly ….
