  • Video Lagging when trying to preview inside premiere, help!

    Hi,

I’m using a trial for Premiere cs4. I’m importing a single AVi-720P video file. When I try and watch the file inside premiere it hardly plays. The sound works fine but the video lags like crazy and only plays maybe 1 second as it moves across the timeline. My computer should be powerful enough. Am I missing something? Any help would be awesome, Thanks!

What kind of 720P AVI? HDV, uncompressed, etc.
    What are the project settings?

I’m guessing you don’t have enough disk throughput. Full, uncompressed 720P needs a minimum of 110 MBytes per second.

It’s either you hard drive read speed as Jeff said or you processor but it’s most likely your hard drive read speed.

What is your hard drive setup (RAID?) and what are your computer specs?
