  Sound editing on Premiere

  Hello everyone,
  I’ve got to edit a speaker piece and helpfully the speaker has put the mic inside his jacket so I get the constant rubbing noise. Is there anything I can do within Premiere to reduce it or get rid of it?

  I’ve tried soundbooth but it says i can only remove noise from clips around 52 seconds long, and the piece is over 30 minutes! If an one knows about that too I’d be grateful.

  That’s really difficult to remove. If it’s there when he isn’t speaking, you could just add some roomtone but if it’s there when he IS speaking, then it’s there to stay. You can reduce it slightly by possibly lowering it’s frequency. Mostly likely it’ll be more on the bassy side, so reduce the low frequencies.

  Keep in mind however, that this will affect the speaker’s voice and reduce the amount of bass (or whatever frequency you lower) in the voice.

  Basically, you can clean it up slightly but it’s still going to be there.
