  • “Cannot compile movie” exporting error.. I need help!

Posted by Adam Fraser on December 2, 2008 at 10:34 pm

Towards the end of august, i was deemed responsible for filming and editing my cousins wedding. I used an old analog hi 8 video camera along with my newer cheap canon dv (digital). After spending about 15 hours editing the film, i was relieved to have completed it so well. I then clicked on export film, and my troubles began. About half way through the export (which takes about 20 hours?!) a window pops up that reads “cannot compile movie”. This happend about 3 months ago and to date i have tried every single suggestion out there, but no success. I am using my laptop to edit and am exporting to an external hard drive that has loads of free space. I told my cousin that it would be on a dvd for her and her family to watch during christmas. I am desperate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, but I’ve tried all of these but the one about copying it to a new sequence. This could be a rookie question but is a new seqence just a new video track? If not, then how do I get a new sequence

See Create a new sequence in the PPro CS3 Help.

You will also find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.

    Cheers
