  Importing avi files made in 2002

  Does anyone know why I can’t import .avi files into PP CS3? The .avi movie files were made in 2002 and were easily imported into an early version of Premiere. When I try to import the files into CS3 i get a file import failure error message that says ‘codec missing or unavailable’.

  Note. I have no problem importing early .mov files.

  What codecs are used in the AVI file? (See the “Troubleshooting” section in the link.)

  I’m not sure Eddie. The .avi files were made by my animator six years ago. They were probably made in Softimage 3D or After Effects in 2002 on a PC. I’ll see what i can find out. Thanks for your reply, Cathie
