Is there a way to open Final Cut Pro projects in Premiere Pro CS3? Any techniques or little tricks perhaps.

I know I can just save all the information of the project on a tape and import to premiere pro, but I won’t get the little edits and placements someone made in the final cut pro project, for example, if I wanted to take out an effect that they placed in the project, like a greyscale, etc.

Are there any conversion tools or anything like that available?

    Jon Barrie,
Are you saying there will be a patch made available for download to CS4?
Please tell all. I am using CS4 and I have not found any solutions.
If it’s still in the lab, do you know what they are trying to do?

(P.S. So… How many video editors does it take to change a lightbulb?)

All I can say is that Adobe are working on something. It won’t be for CS3. I can’t speculate. All I can say is that PProCS4 has something in the works for FCP import. Don’t know how or when just that it’s being worked on. It may not eventuate? Adobe work on heaps of features that they want to happen then realise it’s too unstable and have to pull it. Look at the AAF support in CS4. That had to be pulled last minute from CS4 retail release. AAF is set to come back in the first CS4 update. Until then EDL is the old tried and true.
    😉
