  • Cruddy quality using multicam on CS4

Anyone know why, when editing a multicam sequence on CS4, the playback looks like it’s half res? It didn’t on CS3, on the same setup. Rendering the work area doesn’t seem to help – all the cuts have the green “rendered” line above them but they still play back looking rubbishy. As soon as I stop playback, the still it pauses on looks crisp and sharp again… any ideas?

    I’m using CS4 Production suite on a Dell M6300 laptop, dual 2.6Ghz, 4Gb RAM, Vista x64.

Try changing the Quality of Playback to Highest.
My laptop is not having this problem. Maybe your computer is using the auto setting to keep up with as close to RT response?
It does seem to be in draft in playback and high in pause, which indicates the quality is set to auto.
