Hi, recently got a new laptop with Vista Ultimate 64bit installed. I’ve been having a problem with Premiere Pro where I am unable to click some Creative Suite based buttons and have to resort to using my keyboard (tabbing through the options) and hitting enter. This notably happens when I am asked ‘Do you want to save this project’, the yes, no and cancel buttons do not respond to being clicked. Also, when the introduction screen comes on and I have to select a project, the same result.

Has there been a fix released for this and is it because the Adobe GUI is conflicting with the Vista Aero GUI?

Sounds like an issue with the OS or mouse drivers. We have a machine with Vista Ultimate and none of these issues.

I would however recommend disabling Aero, if only to save you some memory and CPU overhead. In fact, if you right click on the Premiere icon, you can set it to run in compatible mode, which will disable Aero everytime it starts and will enable it again when you exit.

I actually got a bigger problem as I was editing today. Anytime I placed anything or moved anything on the timeline, it would just magnify to the extent I could not see anything at all.

However, I tried your advice and went through the compatibility settings one by one and realized that I can disable display scaling on high DPI settings instead of disabling visual themes and the problems go away. The plus side is that I keep my wonderful Aero interface.

Thank you for the assistance. I almost thought I had to install XP. 🙂
