  • auto-save files – what’s the last one?

Posted by Sergio Barrozo on August 25, 2008 at 8:03 pm

I had a crash with a project and then when I recovered my PC the project file was corrupted. I then opened the Adobe Premiere Pro Auto-Save folder to find the last auto save file. The last file was named “project name 5-1.prproj”, but when I opened it there was bins and clips missing. Then I tried to open the other auto save files, and I found that the auto-save file numered 2-3 was the most complete one.
I didn’t understand why. What is the criteria of this file numbering? How could the 2-3 numbered file be more complete than de 2-5?

You can select how many instances of auto-save you want. If you select 5 (default), it goes back and overwrites 1 after the fifth auto save and so on.

I always sort the files by date and pick the one with the most recent date and time.
