questions on trimming project via project manager
I have a large project that consists of hundreds of captured individual video avi files that range from 15 sec – 1:30 sec. Only small portions of these individual clips were used in the timeline.
I would like to reduce down the overall size of this project on my harddrive.
When using the feature project -> project manager, after it analizes my project it gives me these options : (1) create new trimmed files or (2)collect files and copy to new location. It also shows that my original project size is 43.6 gb and the resulting trimmed project size would be 16.2 GB.
Here are my specific questions:
1) If I chose the “create new trimmed files project” option will it actually delete the unused portion of the actual video avi files and leave me only the edited portion of the clip that I used in the timeline on my hardrive? This would truly be a benefit for me because I am strapped on harddrive space currently.
2)Again choosing this option, it sounds like the program creates a duplicate of your project, do all the bins I created remain intact?
3) Once this would be done, would I then delete the entire original project folder to regain the hardrive space?
Sorry for the long winded questions, but I have put a lot of time into this project so I don’t want to screw anything up.
Thanks in advance – Carl
