  • Why no JPEG export function in Premiere?

I have to send quick images from my Premiere timeline off of Premiere for my producer to ID the people being interviewed. Think I can find JPEG as an export function under “Export Frame” so I can do this quickly and efficiently??

With Gif for some reason, you can’t adjust resolution to make them smaller for email use. So now, I either have to jam the producer’s mailbox by sending GIF files or save them as BMPs and spend an extra hour converting 30 or so images to JPEG with some other app.

I really wonder about Premiere and how seriously Adobe takes this program for broadcast work where you need to save time instead of losing it. The handling of time code is another bone of mine to pick, just awful. Time code is a video effect??? Since when?

Oh well, Fine Cut Pro — next year!!!

I use CS3 and I have no problem clicking on the video section and changing the export frame size to 320X240 and changing the pixels aspect ratio to 1.0 so I am not sure what the issue is.

It would be nice to be able to export to JPG but creating an action in Photoshop will allow you to change an entire folder of BMPs to JPG with one fell swoop.

Good luck on your FCP time savings, I could tell you I certainely tried; I hope you like waiting for quicktime conversions 🙂

I usually handle these type of conversions in Photoshop.

You simply record a macro for the first conversion, and run a batch process for the rest of the pics. It takes a good 30 seconds…
