Delay while recording voice overs
Hello-
I recently purchased a Samson CO1U USB Mic to use with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 (Windows Vista). Whenever I attempt to record voice-overs I get a 1 second delay between the time I say something and the time it comes out the Speakers. Has anyone had this problem? Please Help!! (I’ve made the USB Mic my default recording device….I’ve put on headphones while recording and the problem still exists.) i even tried recording my voice in another program (Windows Movie Maker) and i still get the 1 second delay!!! It’s Frustrating :X ……I’ll add one more thing to this….I’ve also attempted tp use a different brand USB MIC. -

But does it matter if your voice is 1 sec delayed in playback? Presumably you’re recording it to add to the video? Once you’re finished with the recording, you could just drag the audio track backwards one second to sync it up with the video. Or am I missing something?

Make sure you have only one input and one output port enabled in;
Edit>Preferences>Audio Hardware> ASIO Settings. -
well the problem is that the delay can throw me off as well as get annoying. i don’t like to activate the mute button either because i prefer to hear my voice while recording

If you want to hear yourself live, you’ll need a mixer, and plug the speakers in the monitor output.
What you are hearing is yourself after Premiere and your hardware process the recording, which is going to yield to a delay, no way around it, it’s “post processing listen”.

I have the same problem – I can mute the the voice over track while making voiceovers.
But if you make a mistake and want to play the track right up to a new “in” point – then you have muted the track and can hear nothing. Great if Adobe could mute the recording but not the playback of the track.
