Adobe, wake up! TC is important.
I’m getting ready to burn some DVDs with TC and find that CS3, the latest and greatest version of Premiere Pro has a timecode bug that will not shot “media” time code numbers, clips only. So a tape that were barred and coded say at 01:00:00:00 will show as 00:00:00:00.
How can Adobe call this software “pro”, when TC is treated like a video effect? Don’t they get that producers, directors, broadcasters, clients — all work off of TC in the field and in post. What client doesn’t require TC burn DVD or video files, to study and make notes from.
And, don’t give me, Clipnotes which is a joke and totally universally not a standard, not to mention 4-5 hours rendering time when clipnoting 4-5 tapes. Premiere by now, should like most editing software, show source TC on the output monitor at all times.
I finished a project with lots of archives from the CBC and NFB last year and it was a disaster to get accurate TC points on my timeline, to reference the length of time individual stock was used so I could pay for it.
I’m done with this program, Final Cut is looking real good at the moment. For some reason Adobe isn’t aware that ignoring or underestimating the value of TC limits this software to wedding video use. WAKE UP ADOBE!!!
