  true 16:9 in Premiere

  I’d like to do my next preject in 16:9, but I don’t want to get it filmed and run into problems half way trhough production. I have a camera that does true, anamorphic 16:9. How do I go about putting together the film and also ensure that the format carries over to DVD and televisions. Obviously I have to work in a 16:9 project, but after that, what else can i do to make it go smoothly?

  Also, if I’m working with a camera that merely stretches the footage for it’s “widescreen” mode, is there a way to preserve that through premiere and not have it play wierd on tvs and computers? thanks alot for any help, I’m pretty lost when it comes to formats, ratios and the like.

  Make sure your project is widescreen and your footage is set to the widescreen aspect ratio (interprete footage) and you will be fine.

  So, if I film in widescreen, have my project set to widescreen it should be ok? Is there a certain way I need to export it in order to have DVD players and televisions know how to display it correctly (ie, a widescreen tv fills the whole screen, a 4:3 tv gives letter boxing w/o stretching the image)

  also: I want to put this widescreen film on DVD with 4:3 movies…will that cause a problem for the TV or player when it comes to display?
