  • Can you change the track order?

I’m used to being able to just grab a track and move it up or down in the track order. Can that be done in Premiere Pro? If I have two video tracks and I decided I want the video content on the track on the bottom to be above the top track is there a way to easily switch their order?

I know I could select all the clips on one track, make a new track above or below the one I want to put those clips above or below and move all of those clips, but I’d like to avoid going through all these steps if possible.

    Thanks.

Use your track select tool (it looks like a small arrow pointing to the right) then click on the first part of your track then drag it above the track you want to move down.

    Works like a charm

    I’m guessing you can’t.

You can move an entire track’s clips, but you can’t actually move the track itself(along with it’s name and keyframe/name settings).

I’ve submitted a request to Adobe for this feature through several versions of Premiere.

I’m using CS6 and my track tool always selects all. How do I get it to just select the one track?

for the benefit of future readers like me.

The way to do this is.
Use the “Track selector Tool” (A) to select all the clips on a track
Then change to the “selection tool” (V) to drag them all up or down to another track

Unfortunately I cannot find a way to just drag a track about.
