I am trying to add a tascam FW 1082 to my Premiere Pro CS3 Audio. The program sees the tascam but when I select the tascam in the Audio hardware settings it changes right back to Premeire Pro windows sound. Adobe says they have no idea whats going on and Tascam is of no help either. UGH!!! It will also show up in the hardware settings for soundbooth but will not let me select it. Any ideas on how to make this work????

Thanks in advace for the help!

    Hi Patti,
after many experiments with my Mackie firewire interface (16 audio channel desk) I’ve had to accept that PPro CS3 can only deal with 1 stereo channel of incoming audio. Audition 1.5 works fine but Sound booth won’t see it. Any other Adobe programs just crash when I enable the Mackie.

I use Cubase SX3 for recording audio then import the files into PPRoCS3 & use my normal on-board sound card.

Sorry I can’t be of any further help.
    Phil

Try configuring the tascam as the default device in Windows Control Panel (Sounds and audio…) first.
Use the Audio tab of the “Sounds and Audio Device Properties” window to do this. Also select “Use only default devices”.

Thanks for the info… I am always thankful for any help I can get. I am going to add another fire wire card to my PC for the Tascam as it also looks like my tascam and card do not work and play well together (shame on them!) then I will put your suggestions to work. Thank you again very much!
