I have upgraded both my CS3 suite and the latest Matrox/Axio software and now I find that – often, after capturing and closing the capture window – the sound drops out of the project. To get it back I am forced to re-boot. Anyone else has experienced this?

Also on the first boot up of the day – many times on opening any project on Premiere I get an “dll runtime error” and I’m forced to boot up again. Running XP Pro on a Dual-Core HP 8400.

Any ideas anyone? Had no problems prior to upgrading softwares. Is this a commonly known new bug?

hey. i do know that adobe released some fake upgrades – for people who had pirate software of the programs. as soon as you install it is comes up with all kinds of problems. a good trick that i heard of – change your computer date back to 2006 – this will fix it. not that i have done this though. if thats whay you may or may not have that could definately be the problem. you can just back up all the your footage and keep your prmeiere files and reinstall the program – i did that a short while back and it worked a treat for weird upgrades. just get the patches from the adobe website to get the latest cs3 hd upgrades.

Thanks for the info Glenn. The CS3 and the upgrade were bought directly from Adobe so I am hoping this is not the problem. The system has been running well for a few months – this problem just started a few days ago (coincidentally with an XP update) so I think I will need to dig a bit more. I think an email to Adobe tech support may be in order…

    Hi, Simon,

No problems here with Axio; PPro v.3.2; and Axio Utils 3.5. Matrox is suggesting waiting before updating to XP SP3 until they have a chance to check it out. Apparently one issue is that you may have problems reinstalling Axio Utils with SP3.

Check the Matrox forum for the latest details.

Thanks for the info. Apparently MS must have known there was a problem as well because a new XP update came in two days ago and since its installation all the problems have stopped and we’re back to normal on boot up. The sound issue is still there but all I have to do is close Premiere and re-open it and it works fine. Solving one problem at a time…
