I am working on a slideshow and have 246 8-second stills on the timeline and it will not display some of the clips in the timeline or source viewer. It will randomly take one out of approx. 20 clips. It also intermittently not show the icons on the clips on the timeline and then they will start appearing. Same way in the source viewer. I have defragged the disc and that is not the problem. I have plenty of resources. I have 4 gb of ram and twin EVGA 9800gt video cards and a dual 2.4 pentiuum processor running 1066 bus speed. I have rendered it too and it doesn’t show up after I render either. Please help as I am running out of time. Thanks

I can only assume the photos you are using are large size in pixels. That will slow the process down. If you want to see all the images in the timeline you’ll need to export it out, make notes go back to your project and make the adjustments that way. Keep the Video Quality Settings in the monitor on Automatic.

What do you mean by export it out and make notes? Yes they are 300 dpi photos that I let Premiere resize because of time constraints. Or so I thought.
    Thanks

Have you tried to export the timeline?
The files being 300dpi is not right for video as it onlu uses 72dpi. Try changing and unlinking and relinking the photos that have issues to 72dpi proxies.

Photoshop can easily resize any number of photos to your desired size. Try:
File – Automate – Web Photo Gallery

Then bring the smaller pictures back into Premiere and see if that helps.
