  Changing footage speed from a Hard Disk Drive camera

  I have PPro CS3 and recently bought a Sony Hard Disk Drive camera. Before that I was using a MiniDv camera and when I wanted to speed-up or slow-down footage I would right click on a clip in the timeline and select the speed/duration option and change the percentage in order to get the look that I wanted. Now when I try to do the same procedure with footage from the Hard Disk Drive camera the clip is very choppy. Any ideas, or alternate procedures to accomplish the same thing?

  A Sony DCR-SR200. Sorry, I meant to put that in the original post and forgot.

  CS3 cannot handle Mpeg 2 files well. Either convert the files to DV type 2 or try Premiere Elements which was designed to handle consumer formats.
