    Hey guys,

I’m trying to edit a movie I recorded yesterday.
I converted the original 10GB avi file to a 500 MB WMV file, but premiere won’t import:

It says unsupported format, which is odd, because WMV is a supported format.

    Can someone help?
    Thanks.

Edit the original AVI, not a WMV that is unsuitable for editing.

FWIW, I have had success with wmv files in CS3 so it is doable. Quality is lower than raw avi, but in both cases, wmv is all the client had.

Ron started with a 10 GB AVI, which he compressed to WMV prior to editing. He should edit first and then convert the result to WMV. Much better result and much smoother editing.

I am working with WMVs that i need to edit and have had no success getting them into PPro Cs3 what are you doing to get it to work did you have to download a patch or a plug in? Or did you have to set up a Project specifically to handle the WMVs?

I would love to know as i have to handle many of these a month.

    thanks
