problems editing on premiere pro from DVD’s
Recently, I’ve been consumed by this battle of trying to put a show reel of my lighting work together using Premiere Pro v7!
I scarcely edit and my knowledge in the computer world is fairly limited so maybe the answer is a lot simpler than I think but hopefully someone may be able to point me in the right direction.
I’ve got various DVD copies of shows that I have lit and have been wanting to put them together in a show reel using Premiere on my PC.
The first show on DVD I copied the .vob files onto my hard drive, converted the .vob files of the footage to .mpg and imported them into Premiere. When I dragged the file onto the timeline, two things went bad. 1) when playing the footage, there would be frequent jumps (it would get choppy here and there) even though there is no sign of it on the timeline 2) the audio track would not be in sync.
I tried to edit another show but it was even worse when every time I went to import the converted .mpg files into Premiere, it would just freeze. -_-
So I’ve given up trying for now because if I can’t get those two shows working, I don’t want to put the showreel together without them. The only other solution I can think of at the moment is try again on a Mac using Final Cut.
Any advice? Cheers
Kind Regards,
