Just FYI for anyone who might have a similar problem: I was attempting to encode a sequence via the Adobe Media Encoder (AME), but when I click ‘OK’ after finalizing my settings, the AME window would disappear for a second and then would go back to the AME window. It went to the filename dialog box. I tried every different kind of setting to no avail.

The Solution: The sequence name was “Reaching Out w/o Credits”. The “/” (which windows will not allow to be in a filename, just like /,\,?,*, :,<,>,|) caused the problem . I removed the offending character from the sequence name and it allowed me to encode.

Just one more oddity of CS3.

    System Specs:
    Vista Home Premium x64
    Adobe Production Premium CS3
