  • Loose quality when burning to DVD??

Posted by Philipp Schulz on April 22, 2008 at 11:02 am

    Hello,
I have just upgraded from Premier 6 to Premier Pro 2. WOW!

When I view my final exported movie in an AVI its perfectly clear, even on the computer screen.

As soon as I burn it onto DVD I loose a lot of quality and the movie is no where near as sharp and crisp as it is on the AVI or in the actual project.

Is there anyway I can export at a higher quality? What am I doing wrong.

    thanks
    Philipp

    Hello Harm,

surely there must be another solution.

    thanks

2.0 was notoriously bad in encoding to MPEG2, CS3 has improved significantly.

Is your movie shorter than one hour and what are your settings for MPEG coding?

    Fixed it!
I was not using the setting ” export uncompressed”, hence the compressed export, which seems to be default, was causing me to loose quality. This however only showed up on the final burnt DVD and not in the exported avi.
    thanks anyway.
