  • How Can I Use Apple ProRes 422 in Premiere?

Posted by Jim Zons on April 3, 2008 at 8:01 pm

I just received a hard drive full of QuickTime files for a project I’m working on in Premiere CS2 … but unfortunately they used the Apple ProRes 422 codec which I can’t open. I don’t see anything on Apple’s web site … is there any sort of third party utility or plugin that will let you either convert the files or use them natively in Premiere? Any help would be appreciated!

Are you on a Windows machine? No PC solution for Pro RES. I usually convert them to a different codec on the Mac and then re-batch them via After Effects into the codec of your PPro project.
