  HDV pal to ntsc transfers

  We’ve got an interesting project going on with youth filmmakers worldwide doing stories about the environment. That’s the backstory. https://listenup.org/beyondgreen

  Producers are working in both PAL & NTSC in HDV (using Canon HV20’s).

  I’m having trouble envisioning the project from the online session and moving backwards to the system we want to buy for CS3. Ideally, we want to show up at the colorist’s door with drives, no tapes.

  If we get the right system, will be still have to send out tapes to do the alchemist PAL-NTSC transfer? If we uncompress the footage when we bring it in, will the transfer be necessary?

  Am I making bad assumption about showing up to the online session with drives, not tapes?

  Sorry, lots of questions.
