I’m finding my projects look so much better on my computer and on video sharing website when I use square pixels and deinterlace (sp?).

I don’t know why, but they look much sharper.

Given that I’m only interested in creating videos for viewing on computers via web sites like Veoh etc, , is there any reason not to go with those setting, or am I missing something?

    Thanks, J Rusak

There is every reason to go with these settings. You do lose resolution by deinterlacing footage, but if the size is rather samll, it won’t be noticed. It’s a lot better than interlacing lines in motion. And square pixels is the way to go as well.

As bandwidth and video sizes go higher, it becomes important to start shooting progressive however.
