  Compatibility issues with Panasonic DVCPRO deck?

  I having major issues with APP CS3 & my Panasonic AJ-D250 DVCPRO deck.

  Issue #1- While previewing the tape(s) (I have tried many tapes while troubleshooting this problem) I am seeing the video jumping & flickering. It imports fine but the video jumping is driving me crazy.

  Issue #2- When importing I have to crash record to my machine. I can’t mark in & out points & capture clips that way. So I am having to play the tape & then click record when I am in the neighborhood of the clip I want to capture.

  Issue #3- While exporting to tape….no video feeds my deck. It triggers the deck to record but I am not getting any signal (vid or audio).

  I have the deck connected via firewire & have changed the settings under device control to panansonic, generic, & everything else I could think of.

  Is there a known issue with this deck?
  What else should I try?

  I thought PP3 only supported P2 ?

  As in P2 cards. I don’t believe that Premiere supports native DVCPro from tape. I could be wrong…

  Hi,

  Prior to PP3 Adobe supported this deck in DVCPRO. Might be worth a call to the Premiere help desk.
