Posted by Stefan Johansson on November 8, 2007 at 9:35 pmHi.
I would be very greatful if somebody could help me find a filter that fixes hot/dead pixels. I’m using Premiere Pro 1.5 for pc.

November 8, 2007 at 11:21 pmHa ha, looking at the title, I was going to give you the screen rubbing tip, but that probably won’t do you much good…
You could try duplicating the layer, then using the garbage matte on top, zoom way in and mask a few pixels around it, and apply some blur.
You could also cover it up with a less obvious color using the write on tool.
No magic here.

November 10, 2007 at 4:55 pm…another suggestion might be to export a freeze frame into Photoshop and track the pixel directly, creating a PSD document that only includes the pixels you use to cover the dead pixels.
You could make various colored versions, or color correct one version on the timeline to fit the content, though of course filters take time to render.
