Anyone have any experience with capturing or acquiring via the IEEE1394 option board on the Panasonic AJ-D250 in Premiere Pro CS2?

We’re starting to get requests for masters on DVCPro, and we currently have no solution to dub out of Premiere onto that format. We can output to DVCAM (via Firewire) and BetaCam SP (via Component), but not DVRPro.

We have an AJ-D250 withOUT the Firewire option board (AJ-YAD250), and we’re thinking of getting that option board installed so we can output/input with this deck via Firewire, but are unsure if it’s compatible with Premiere Pro CS2, specifically an AJA Xena LH/LS-equipped Premiere Pro CS2 workstation.

After all our Firewire troubles with the D250’s big brother, the AJ-HD1400 (read my woes elsewhere in the Xena forum), I’m concerned that similar incompatibility issues would arise with the D250.

I’d rather not spend the $750+ on this option board if it has similar issues, since they are both manufactured by Panasonic.

    Thanks.

I’ve recently had the experience of capturing DVCPRO material on Premiere Pro CS3 with an AJ-D250 equipped with the optional Firewire AJ-YAD250 board installed.

    It worked perfectly.
