Prem Pro CS3 Crashing – Vista (Compiler vfm)
Hi there,
I recently got Prem Pro CS3, installation all went smoothly etc… but i have this reoccurring error when i go to run it for the first time. It loads up that intro box with what its initializing then it gets to “Loading Compiler vfm”, then it crashes with the vista error message. “Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 has stopped working” I have contacted adobe and on the forums but there down at the moment.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times, and to be honest i really don’t have a clue how i can fix this from happening?
Any Advise?

You should provide more info so people can help you, like your computer specs, what flavor Vista, what other software you have loaded, etc

Memory (RAM):1022MB
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86Ghz 1.87Ghz
System Type: 32-bit operating system
Memory (Hard drive): 240G
Graphics card: nVidia Geforce 7200I have Home Premium Vista, as well as Photoshop CS3 so i do have other CS3 adobe products on my computer.

Hello,
Have you tried updating Premiere pro cs3 from the Adobe update in Adobe bridge or photoshop. As it will look at all Adobe products installed when you click the update icon.

Thats odd,
I downloaded that update for it. I tried to install it but it kept saying “Unsuccessfully installed” I kept trying but it wouldn’t install :S
Anyone know why?

Do you have any Anti Virus or Mal ware scanners running? Have you udpated all the Vista drivers?

Ah I’m not sure if I’ve updated all my vista drivers… so ill check that, and no anti viruses were running at the time. Ill get back to you soon, let me check the drivers.

Is the Premiere CS3 you have loaded a tryout version?
Also you only list one hard drive, are you loading premiere into a separate partition by any chance?
the best way to run premiere is with a minimum of two drives, three is recommended, one medium size drive for the OS, APPs, and paging file, a large drive for video source files, a third drive for previews, cache files, audio files, etc.
