Confusing Problem with Adobe Premiere 2.0 Audio Shrink Delay?
I recently updated my Adobe Premiere 2.0 to be able to Edit footage from a Canon HV20, and everything was fine for the first four or five tapes captured… then I began to notice wierd issues with an inverted audio delay… as in the audio seeming to shrink, though not playing distorted or pitch shifted… ahead of the frames… to boggle the mind further this problem seems to “grow,” the delay first beginning a few frames off, but slowly growing further and further before the video footage… so if there is somebody saying “Where did he go?” the words would be heard a half a second ahead of the vid feed, and later on completely ahead of it by several seconds… if you have heard of this at all or know what I’m talking about please help… this seriously harms my editing…

How are you capturing?
If you are not scene detecting in a third party application like HDVSplit or Cineform HDLink, then you need to manually log the footage prior to capture. You should not be capturing over any spot in the tape where you stopped and restarted the camera. Even just a pause.
Capturing over stop/start points causes problems with the long GOPs.

i am straight capturing footage from someones production… running the entire tape… they didn’t log anything, though until now I’ve only worked with miniDV, so this is a first and lessons will apparently be learned… thank you
