    Hi all,

I know this isn’t strictly a PPro question..but you guys are probably more likely runing the full Production Premium suite than other Adobe forums…

So – I’ve never really cottoned on to using Adobe Bridge. It’s really slow to start up and uses valuable memory/CPU power and I’ve got on quite well with Windows Explorer for browsing/opening & saving files…

However, there are a couple of great things missing from that workflow that Bridge does offer:

    – seeing thumbs/clips/document sizes of my files, no matter their filetype is great, as Adobe seem to have stopped you viewing certain Illustrator/other image file thumbs in WinExplorer. Cheeky.

    – being able to add metadata, etc seems like a good addition though it’s not something I’d use I don’t think.

    – BUT why can’t I view AVI’s in bridge if they’re rendered with my Blackmagic codecs? That’s quite annoying as everything I know render is in 8bit YUV 4:2:2.

    – Also is there a way to get Bridge to remember which folder you are opening FROM and separately remember which folder you are saving TO? (EG: my source files and project are on my SATA drive and my renders/output files all go to my RAID) In Explorer I have to manually find the folders again and again when opening/saving.

Could bridge help me with this?
    Hope that made SOME sense!

    Cheers,
    Jim.

I don’t use it as much as some other people perhaps, but I certainly use it to apply animation presets in After Effects. And it works great with Stills.

    >After Effects presets

Yeah, that’s about all I use it for..occasionally when I need to look at thumbs for EPS/AI files.

Does anyone else ever run into this constantly having to navigate to diff folders for opening/saving problem…or is it just me!?
