Premier Pro 1.5 Rendering Problem
Hi all this is my first post here. I’ve searched the forums, but have not come across an answer to a problem like mine.
I’m trying to render a video sequence which is 68mins in length. The project was captured from DVCAM via PP into the workstation and only consists of 2 video tracks.
Only basic transitions – dissolves mostly and colour correction have been applied to the tracks. Nothing has been done to the audio tracks.
However, when I try to render (DV AVI – PAL) it will happily run along with no error messages and after about 2 hrs it will spit out the completed 15 gig AVI file. However after about 45 mins into the rendered file everything goes crazy! Image is jittery ie. black>frame>black>frame etc and audio either drops out or gets stuck repeating the same loop!!
Any ideas? Thanks!
My machine is a Dual Xeon 2.4Ghz With Hyperthreading enabled. 4GB of RAM, an 80Gb system drive (50Gb free) and a 200Gb Scratch drive (112Gb Free), 256meg Matrox card and fully up to date XP Pro.

Could you try exporting smaller segments to see if that problem still exists? Also, does the black frame always occur at the same spot?

I too have had nothing but problems rendering out long files in PP 1.5. Lately I have been creating a separate audio file then rendering out my project as a Targa sequence. Then i match the 2 back together in AE and render from there. Now I know this seems like a lot of wasted effort but the end result offers picture quality far superior to smaller projects I have rendered directly from PP 1.5.
