Looking for some help, please. When capturing a clip in DV mode through firewire in Premiere Pro 2, we can only get channel 1 audio although there is audio on channel 2 as well. When working in HDV mode, there are no issues. Are we missing somehting in Premiere or are we having deck issues with our Sony HVR-M25U?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

Are you refering to stereo chnl 1 with 2 tracks? if so thats all most NLEs capture the second stereo chnl isn’t recognized, if you want to import two stereo channels you have to use something like Scenalyzer

If you are refering to chnls as tracks you may have the audio set to mono

Sorry, maybe I am not explaining myself. Say the shoot tape has talent mic’d on channel 1 and shotgun on channel 2, I should be able to digitize both channels of audio at the same time. Again, it works fine in HDV mode. Both the left and right channels of audio are digitized.

The video was shot on a Sony DSR 200 DVCAM. We have tried other tapes that were shot DV on various cameras and the right channel of audio was not captured by Premiere.
