So I have a layer of text with a warping affect on it that I need to eport so that it can be placed into an already existing file. I am pretty sure that I need to export this text over an alpha channel. In after effects it has no backgorund, and I can put things behind it and that shows through. However, when I bring it into Final Cut it has a black background, the size of the AE comp. I am very new to AE and would really appreciate some help. I am sure it is a very simple solution, I just don’t know it.
    Thank You

You need to render the file 32bit. In the Output Module section of the render queue make sure that you have chosen a format that supports alpha channels such as TGA or Quicktime Animation codec. Choose the RGB + Alpha option for “Channels” and this will give you a “Depth” of millions of colors+. Render out and you should be good to go 🙂
