  • “Numbered Stills” gone missing!?!?!

Okay, as a long time Premiere user I’ve done this dozens of times since Premiere 5.0, but now I can’t! I have no “Numbered Stills” check box. What gives?

I’m using Pro 2.0 on a WinXP machine. It’s fully licensed, real, store bought version. When I try to import an animation, this is the dialog box:

The “Numbered Stills” checkbox is missing. What happened? How can I get it back? Any help would be appreciated!

If you are using dual monitors, put the dialog window on the main monitor.

If you are not, report back and we’ll see what else might be the problem.

The reason its not working is because you are trying to import a mixed image sequence, one that contains PSDs and TGAs. Separate the two file types and put them in different folders. That should solve the problem.

First of all, thanks for helping!

But that’s not it. It wasn’t working when I only had the 1 set of images. On a lark, I tried again and still no dice.

I moved all the other attempts into a separate folder and tried to reload just the initial animation. There’s still no “Numbered Stills” check box.

  • I think if I am understanding you correctly, all you need to do is import the entire folder. The stills will be there in a new bin. The Numbered Stills dialog only applies to a numbered sequence of stills. ex. 01_tif,02_tif,03tif… and so on. I am not in front of editor now to double check, but think thats how it works.

No, I am trying to import an animation.

By importing a folder, if I set the import settings to be 1 frame per image, I can sequence the images on the timeline, but they’d all be individual frames. I am trying to import them as 1 animation – 1 file.

Try it with just the jpg instead of psd files.

Looks like it was fixed in 3.0 beta.

    Still no dice.

I tried with PSDs, TGAs, and now JPGs. I didn’t think JPGs would make a difference. I don’t want JPGs, anyway, as the animation frames I am trying to import are 32-bit (for transparency).

Odd bug, then. This is not a problem on our laptop. Is it affecting anyone else?
