Adobe is a bit vague (to me anyway) in their new-features description of CS3’s “support” of 10-bit video and 16-bit PSD files. It is my understanding that V2 and earlier PPro versions rendered applied effects/color correction, etc. in 8-bit color depth. So, will CS3 do that in 10-bit?

Surely someone knows whether or not CS3, when working with 10-bit files, will render effects, color/brightness/constrast, etc in 10-bit. PPro V2 and earlier, regardless of the original files, rendered out 8-bit. Hello? Anyone home?

Hey Bill…. PPro 2 works as 10 render using Decklink cards as does CS3. It was the big improvement from PPro 1.5 to PPro 2.

Thanks Baz. I wasn’t aware of that, but I’m glad to know it. I had it my head that regardless of the capture card/codec, etc. PPro2 only rendered a max of 8-bit.
