I can’t think of any reason why the order would matter.

Vincent, are you saying this because you know that it does not matter or are not aware of why it may matter? I don’t know with these specific programs, but in the past it has made a difference with some programs. Some needed to be installed first so that the remaining programs would know that they were there and were able to share plug-ins and other resources and ‘talk’ to each other.

    Thanks

You are absolutely right about plugins, but unlike the Production Suite (which decides the order of installation), none of these applications really have anything in common (excepts for what you will find in the Program Files/Common Files folder, but that’s exactly why that folder is created, since it will be there no matter what the order of installation is).

Of course, if he was including Knoll’s Light Factory, or Magic Bullet, you’d want these in last.

    Cheers,

What about the “Edit Original”(not dynamic link) command in the Ppro 1.x, PS, Audition 1.x, Encore 1.x, etc. I was under the impression that Ppro was supposed to be loaded first?

Good question ! And, I don’t know the answer for certain, but I can tell you that over the years I have NEVER paid attention to the install order, and never had to reinstall anything to correct those issue.

I think Premiere loads most of these settings from the common folder, and unless someone actually knows a particular issue here, I wouldn’t worry about it. I would think that, in that case you can probably install Premiere last, so that it knows Photoshop is there.

    Cheers,

    Vince

[Vincent Becquiot] “but I can tell you that over the years I have NEVER paid attention to the install order,”
I never had to either, systems I intergrated were with self installing bundles so never ran across the problem, but I remmember reading somewhere that it was a cure you installed Premiere first if you ran across a problem with other apps, I probably have on a print out around here someplace, where is a good question.
