  • Exporting Microsoft Uncompressed AVI – player has no video

I exported a movie using Microsoft Uncompressed AVI from PPRO 2.0, and when i open it with Windows Media Player 11, it says its aquiring the codec, then when done only plays the audio, the video just shows they`re little color eye candy screen saver thing. Why can`t I see it using a microsoft made player? Is there a codec pack i need to download?

You can try adjusting the WM Player’s “Video Accelerations Settings”
On WMP’s menu select Tools > Options > Performance Tab > Advanced button
Then, turn off “Use Overlays”. If that doesn’t help, mess with some of the other options to see if you can make it work.

    Hope this helps.

Uncompressed video is pretty tough on a media player. May I ask why you want to do this?

i don`t have a problem at home using dv footage, ae art created vids etc, but trying it with DV and PPro 2 it doesn`t work and i`m baffled. I wanted to test more of the export options from PPro 2 which i`m finding all are very low quality if they even work at all. Just wanted to export uncompressed AVI to bring into squeeze.

You need to choose Microsft AVI, then under video, choose compression: None.

The “Uncompressed AVI” codec is only meant to be used for either Adobe Apps or I believe some AJA cards.
